Ike Ngwena

Chairman - Agizo Group

Ike Ngwena is the Chairman of Agizo Group and Co-Founder and Group CEO of Nexus. He also serves as Founding Chairman of Mtha Holdings and the LangalaseMbo Foundation. In his role at Agizo, Ike provides strategic oversight and governance, guiding the company’s growth across targeted markets and strengthening its positioning in the geospatial intelligence and digital solutions sector.
 
He brings deep expertise in organisational strategy, partnership development, and executive-level engagement, enabling Agizo to scale sustainably and align its operations to long-term opportunities. His ability to shape high-impact strategies, build strong institutional relationships, and drive structured growth supports Agizo’s mission to deliver data-driven solutions across multiple sectors.

Matheri Kangethe

Group Managing Director

Matheri Kangethe is the Group Managing Director of Agizo, providing strategic leadership across the business while driving the group’s expansion into East Africa under its newly established regional growth structure. He plays a central role in shaping Agizo’s market positioning, building strategic partnerships, and guiding the organisation’s long-term growth across both public and private sector markets.
 
Matheri brings a strong blend of executive leadership and technical expertise in geospatial science, data analytics, and drone systems. He has led the delivery of innovative GIS, remote sensing, and AI-driven solutions across industries including infrastructure, mining, agriculture, and public administration. His ability to translate complex geospatial technologies into scalable, high-impact solutions positions Agizo as a trusted partner in data-driven decision-making.

SOUTH AFRICA OPERATIONS

Jesse Matheri

Managing Director

Jesse Matheri is the Managing Director of Agizo Solutions South Africa, where he leads operations and delivery within the South African market. He is responsible for driving execution excellence, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring the successful implementation of geospatial solutions aligned with Agizo’s broader strategic objectives.
 
With a strong background in geomatics and systems analysis, Jesse specialises in translating complex business requirements into scalable GIS frameworks and data-driven solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics from the University of Cape Town and brings extensive expertise in systems design, development, and integrated technology delivery.

Phumelele Makatini

Business Development Director

With over 14 years of combined experience across healthcare, financial services, consulting, and technology industries, Phumelele Makatini has excelled in various executive and senior management roles. Her expertise spans government relations, business development, strategy, and entrepreneurship within blue-chip companies. Phumelele is passionate about driving revenue growth and developing actionable strategies that enhance profitability and foster an entrepreneurial culture within organizations. Her dedication to education has led her to serve as an Academic Independent Contractor at UNISA and a visiting lecturer at Wits Business School, where she taught Master’s students in Enterprise Development.

Phumelele currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund South Africa (LPFF) and chairs its Investment Committee. She is a Non-Executive Director at Matrix Fund Managers and a Trustee of the Post Office Retirement Fund. A member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA), Phumelele holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the University of Oxford Saïd Business School, a Master’s in Entrepreneurship from Wits Business School, an Honours in Politics from the University of Johannesburg (UJ), and a BA in Communication Science from UNISA. She is also the former CEO of the Health Funders Association (HFA) and the Building and Construction Industry Medical Aid Fund (BCIMA).

Charél Niemand

Senior Technical and Project Lead – Geomatics

 Charèl serves as Senior Technical and Project Lead within Agizo’s Geomatics division, bringing extensive experience across the full spectrum of geomatics disciplines, including land surveying and mining survey environments. His expertise spans both field execution and the development of integrated technical solutions, enabling the successful delivery of complex, data-driven projects across diverse sectors.
 
He has built an impressive track record in leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects from inception through to completion, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency at every stage. Known for his ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and align technical platforms to field objectives, Charèl plays a critical role in translating project requirements into scalable, high-impact outcomes.

Sinovuyo Ngwena

Legal and Governance Advisor

Sinovuyo Ngwena serves as a Legal and Governance Advisor to Agizo, bringing a strong foundation in law, strategic leadership, and institutional governance. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), providing a multidisciplinary perspective on regulatory frameworks, policy, and organisational strategy.

At Agizo, she advises on legal structuring, compliance, governance frameworks, and risk management, ensuring that operations and partnerships are aligned with best practice and support the company’s growth across geospatial intelligence, drone technologies, and digital platforms.
