Matheri Kangethe is an expert in Geospatial Science, Data Analytics, and Drone Systems with over 30 years of experience. As Director of Agizo Solutions Pty Ltd, a geospatial technology firm operating in South Africa and Kenya, he leads the delivery of cutting-edge solutions across sectors like mining, agriculture, construction, and public administration. Matheri’s work focuses on utilizing GIS, remote sensing, AI, and drone technologies to optimize decision-making, reduce costs, and boost operational efficiency. His extensive career includes managing geospatial capabilities for government and financial services organizations in multiple countries.
Matheri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Surveying & Photogrammetry from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Commerce in Management Information Systems from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is a registered Professional GISc Practitioner (SAGC, PGP 1271). His leadership in geospatial technologies and expertise in data analytics have established him as a trusted figure in the industry, driving impactful, sustainable solutions for both the public and private sectors.
Jesse Matheri
Managing Director - SA
Jesse is the Managing Director of Agizo Solutions South Africa, bringing a wealth of experience as a seasoned executive and geomatics professional. With a strong foundation in systems and business analysis, he excels in optimizing business processes and frameworks to drive organizational success. His leadership is characterized by an ability to translate and integrate strategic business requirements into effective technical GIS design processes and solutions.
As a co-founder of Rikatec, a technology company specializing in fleet management systems, big data, and advanced analytics, Jesse has demonstrated his commitment to innovation and excellence in the tech industry. Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics from UCT and possesses extensive formal skills in systems analysis, design, development, and maintenance. His multifaceted expertise enables him to deliver comprehensive and innovative GIS-based business solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients and stakeholders.
Phumelele Makatini
Director: Business Development
With over 14 years of combined experience across healthcare, financial services, consulting, and technology industries, Phumelele Makatini has excelled in various executive and senior management roles. Her expertise spans government relations, business development, strategy, and entrepreneurship within blue-chip companies. Phumelele is passionate about driving revenue growth and developing actionable strategies that enhance profitability and foster an entrepreneurial culture within organizations. Her dedication to education has led her to serve as an Academic Independent Contractor at UNISA and a visiting lecturer at Wits Business School, where she taught Master’s students in Enterprise Development.
Phumelele currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund South Africa (LPFF) and chairs its Investment Committee. She is a Non-Executive Director at Matrix Fund Managers and a Trustee of the Post Office Retirement Fund. A member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA), Phumelele holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the University of Oxford Saïd Business School, a Master’s in Entrepreneurship from Wits Business School, an Honours in Politics from the University of Johannesburg (UJ), and a BA in Communication Science from UNISA. She is also the former CEO of the Health Funders Association (HFA) and the Building and Construction Industry Medical Aid Fund (BCIMA).
Mercy Matheri
Director
Mercy is an accomplished GIS Specialist and Professional with over 30 years of diverse experience across Kenya, Seychelles, and South Africa. Her career has spanned various roles, including Cartographer, Business Analyst, and GIS Consultant, showcasing her versatility and depth of knowledge in the field.
Her expertise encompasses Spatial Data Management, GIS project development, and Methodology Research, allowing her to contribute significantly to numerous projects. Mercy is a registered Professional GISc Practitioner with the South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors.
With extensive experience in Cartography, Land Surveying, Photogrammetry, and Remote Sensing, Mercy continues to be a driving force in advancing GIS practices and methodologies, delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of her clients.
